So a couple of weeks ago we fell in love with a new, to-be-built house. It was our dream house. They would start building it in October but there were already a lot of people who signed up for exactly that type of house, so we guessed we had very little luck that this could be our new house.

The next day we decided to take a chance and we signed up for the house. At that point we were at 3rd place on the list. So there were 2 other people who were very interesting in buying this specific house. At that point, about a week ago, I asked my mom for her first print copy of The Secret so I could read it and start changing my way of thinking and being.

On the first day of reading, I finished the book and my boyfriend and I watched The Secret movie on Netflix. After that I started to think and speak differently about that specific house. I acted like it was already ours and started to be very grateful for getting it. On the 4th of August we had our information meeting about the house, and at that point we were at second on the list. The meeting went very well and I even told the real estate agent that we were buying that house no matter what.

The next day the first person on the list had his information meeting, so we had to wait at least 1 week to know if the first person accepted the house. On the same day that the first person had their informational meeting, my boyfriend and I were walking to the cinema. That was when I told him that that we would get a phone call tomorrow saying that the first person had backed out, and the house would be ours.

Not even an hour later, I received that very phone call saying that the house was ours!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The best part of this story is that one and a half years ago, I build a gingerbread house out of clay for my boyfriend. After taking a look at that gingerbread house again, I realized that it is exactly the same house, except for all the candy and snow on it, that we just bought!
