Hello,
My story began when I was 17 years old and in my final year at school. I was studying hard for my exams but my real passion was music and singing. I am a huge music fan and I used to collect all of the music magazines that were on sale in the shops at the time.
In this particular magazine, there was a poster of one of the successful bands at the time in 1996. As I loved their music, I put their poster up on my wall. I also bought their debut album. Every day I would look at all of my posters of musicians on my wall before I left for school in the morning. When I left for university, I forgot about all the posters as I matured and let them go.
It wasn’t until I turned 29 that I answered an advertisement looking for a musician and singer for a collaboration to be in a band with her that I discovered who it was. And it was the exact same lead singer from the band whose poster had been on my wall all those years ago in 1996. I was really lucky to be successful in being asked to join her band and she was really nice. I was so shocked and surprised. We also giggled with our music and I was so lucky to support another famous band that I worshipped in 1996. One that I remembered being played on radio 1 John Peels sessions. Even weirder, I even got asked out by their lead singer. We were also blessed to release our songs on a local record label in Glasgow.
There were also another two coincidences that included us both attending the same university in Glasgow, Scotland. We both attended the same course but at different times, had the same lecturers and both of our dads had died of heart attacks suddenly. We both also support The British Heart Foundation charity because of this.
What I wanted to say was that vision boards, or even music posters on a bedroom wall, can be so powerful to the mind subconsciously. I never knew that the universe had those intentions for me with that exact band and the lead singer. It was a magical and surprising experience.
I practice gratitude every day now as well as visualization and positive affirmations because as Jack Canfield says in The Secret film, “This stuff really works.”
