Domingo Returns!!
Submitted by: Pete C.
Wichita, KSMy daughter told me about “The Secret” and gave me the book. The first thought that came to mind was our missing one year old, Yorkshire Terrier, Domingo. My wife’s “Baby.” He had run outside during a winter storm five months earlier and a search of the neighborhood, “lost dog” signs posted, calls to the vets and visits to the animal shelters had not yielded his return.
Two days earlier my wife had resigned herself to the fact that he was gone and gave away his carrier and bed. I told my wife that he may have been found and kept by someone, who disregarded the collar with I.D. tags. And since he ran away from us, he could run away from them. I visualized him running at full speed down the middle of the street towards my car. I would open the door and holler his name and he would jump onto my lap. Then I would visualize my wife holding him and crying with happiness at his return.
Six days later, as I was in my bedroom visualizing, I heard shouts of laughter and Domingo’s name. I walked into the living room and there was my wife holding Domingo and crying with joy. My son and his family were driving to our house and were a block away, when they saw Domingo running down the middle of the street. He stopped, opened the door, called his name and Domingo jumped onto his lap.
He was limping, so we took him our vet and x-rays showed that he had possibly broken a leg and that it had healed, but not very well. We feel that’s why it took so long for him to return.
