On July 25, 2006 I was introduced to THE SECRET. I was, once again, at one of the lowest points in my life. I say once again, because I have been to that place so many times that I was actually contemplating ending it all; I was worn down with the struggle. My introduction to THE SECRET literally came to me through inspired thought, but that is another incredible story ( I have so many these days), and what I was actually inspired to share with you today is a dream that I had that was so revealing that I actually awoke in the morning with tears of pure joy streaming down my face.
THE DREAM: I was walking along a trail in the mountains, and in the distance I saw a crowd of people gathered around a huge pile of wood that had been gathered to create a fire. As I moved closer, I could see a little goat tangled in the firewood by a rope that was around it’s neck. The little goat was struggling to free itself, and as I grew closer I could hear it crying out for help: “Please help me!” it cried out in a small, childlike voice. I ran to the goat and incensed by the crowds indifference, cried out, “What is wrong with all of you, why are you just ignoring this poor creatures cry for help? Would you just let it burn in the fire?”
As I cut the rope that was binding the goat, the crowd disappeared, and instantly the little goat became a beautiful white Unicorn. The Unicorn spoke to me, in an adult voice, and said, “Thank You for your kindness.”
I noticed that the Unicorn had many ribbons and flowers and golden cords wound around a silver and jewel studded harness. I looked into the eyes of the Unicorn, and said, “Someone has so lovingly adorned you with all of these things’, but I fear that they will catch you again as you travel along your journey.” The Unicorn look deep into my eyes and said, “How perceptive you are to see that these adornments, which were so lovingly placed upon me, are really bindings that can catch me up. Are you willing to truly set me free?
“Yes” I said. I cut the harness and all of the adornments fell away. The Unicorn was truly free, and as it rode off, free of all the bindings, it turned to me and said, “Now you are also free.”
This dream was so powerful to me, as it was an indication that in my subconscious was beginning to understand the principles of THE SECRET. We go through our lives “adorned” with beliefs and teachings that have been so lovingly given to us by our parents and by religion. Changing our beliefs is hard, but when we know the truth, we are truly set free.
