Grandma’s Ring Before I Knew The Secret
Submitted by: Janna L. Lee
Cumberland, MarylandI am a mother of three and have one grandson. I work as an Office Assistant. I love the artist in me and want more of it to come out of me...... with the Secret it will.
I first saw the book The Secret when I was shopping at my favorite Walmart store. I was actually reading some of the book and I put it down 4 times. I never bought the book, but it was pulling me too. I finally found out about this great gift from my best friend Darla.
I have had things happen that were great, and I have asked for things and received them. I am very grateful for these things. I know there is so much more great times and things ahead for me and my family and loved ones.
I ended up thinking back about what I wanted as a child, and always asked for, and then received. Then it hit me…
I had always loved my grandma more than life. We would sit and do little games and draw and laugh and talk. She had this ring on her finger that she said that Poppa gave her, which was what she called her husband, my grandfather. I would ask her if I could have it, and she would say, “Oh, Honey, that may be one of my girls’ rings one day… You will have to wait and see if they don’t want it after I’m long gone, or I would give it to you.” I did not want that to happen at all, but I always adored and loved the ring that she wore.
Since then I’m 43 and my beautiful, lovely grandmother passed away. Right before her funeral my grandmother’s youngest daughter came up to be before the procession of the funeral. She was late, but she said that she was standing in front of the mirror getting ready to come to her mother’s funeral, and she heard a voice inside her saying, give this to Janna . It was wrapped in a hanky and she handed it to me. She said, “I’m supposed to give this to you”!!! I opened it up and it was indeed the ring that I loved, that was worn by the best grandma that a granddaughter could ever have…..to me, that is. I will always hold it near and dear to my heart…..just as she held me.
The Secret was in my life even when I was a little girl, and I didn’t even realize it. Now I know it’s never too late to teach my children the Secret.
