Before I ever heard of The Secret, I found evidence of it in my life. Last year I split up with my ex-husband. I remained hopeful that I would find the man with whom I’m compatible in all the ways that matter to me. I subscribed to an online dating site and began my search.

One bit of advice offered by this online dating site was that I make a list of all the qualities that I want/need in a mate. I thought carefully, and resisted my urge to censor myself. The whole idea was to be as specific as possible, no matter how silly or trivial the traits were that I wanted. My list was about 40 items long. I read the list aloud, gave my desires to the Universe, and got out of the way.

I met and dated several men who matched around 70% of the traits I wrote on my list. These were wonderful men who would have been fine companions, but I wanted at least an 80% match. In January of this year, I met a man who matched 100%. I was stunned. I checked off each trait I had listed as I saw that he possessed them. 100%! He truly is my SoulMate! He’s kind, thoughtful, insightful, sensitive, and the most brilliant creative mind I have ever met. He inspires me to return to my artwork, and to return to college to become a Marriage/Family Therapist and Art Therapist. He fully supports me and loves me unconditionally. Both of us have experienced personal healing in areas we had accepted were permanently damaged. I’ve never known love like this, though I’ve always dreamed of having it.

When a friend recommended “The Secret” to me today, I went out at lunch and bought a copy. I’m halfway through and have shed tears of joy several times. This is a truth I’ve always known without knowing. I’m amazed, blown away, grateful, joyful, and my life will never be the same.
