Leaving A Country During The Pandemic Lockdown.

BrazilI’ve been a resilient person since childhood and I’ve learned to grow from all the difficulties I’ve been through in my life. I’m happy to say that now in my 30’s I live a happy life with the family that my husband and I created. I’m proof that when you really set your mind to good, that’s all that comes to you. This is real and it’s my day to day life and I’m so grateful for that.
I am Brazilian and my husband is Venezuelan. During the Covid pandemic, because we needed to set up certain documents we needed to travel to Venezuela, and I ended up getting pregnant while we were there. Well, if you are not familiar with the country, during the pandemic it was all closed and on lockdown. If I had my child there it would take us over a year to even get a passport for our baby, as Brazil did not even have an Embassy there at that time. In addition, the conditions of the hospitals are really bad, the doctors really have to work hard with little equipment there.
So at the beginning of the pregnancy, we bought our flight tickets to travel out of the country as the airport was supposed to open the next month. However, for the next 6 months, the government kept postponing the opening of the airport until the next month. I was getting very anxious because since I was pregnant, I could not wait much longer.
At the time, I was reading The Secret and my husband and I started to practice everything that was in the book. Even though we had no idea how to leave the country, we packed our things and went to a hotel close to the airport, as we were in a city a few hours from the main airport of the country.
Once we got to the hotel, we found out that we had gotten scammed by the website we booked the hotel with. The hotel was real but had no connection with that website, so we lost the money we paid to that website. We kept our minds in a good place and we knew we were in the right place and at the right time. So we focused on only feeling grateful to be brought to that hotel. So we paid again directly to the hotel to stay there for a few days. Then we went directly to the airport and tried to talk to the agencies there without success but we were grateful and we knew everything would be OK. We also practiced visualization, imagining that we were in Brazil but at the same time, feeling so grateful for where we were.
So after 3 days there, the owner of the hotel approached us and told us that a few days ago a couple left and gave her the contact information for an agency that could help us. We contacted this agent and explained our situation. She was very sweet and helpful, and she managed to book us on one of the few flights that were operating in the whole country. So after 15 days at this hotel, we managed to fly out! We even had a chance to spend 3 days in Mexico before flying to Brazil, as I wanted a last trip as a couple before our baby arrived.
We are so grateful to Rhonda Byrne for writing this book and I already have read all of the books she wrote. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
