I believe I have always been using techniques from The Secret, but it really became clear to me how my focus, thoughts and words can make things happen.

We were fostering a dog for the rescue group I volunteer for. We had plans to go on a week long trip so I asked my friend to foster Yuen Yuen the week we were gone. Yuen Yuen was very skittish and shy so my friend was very careful with her, but put Yuen Yuen in the yard (fenced) for a few moments while she went inside. Somehow in a matter of 5 minutes, Yuen Yuen managed to wriggle out of her harness and escape the fenced yard.

My friend told me this 3 days after it had happened so everybody said the chances of her return were slim.

I was devastated and so worried. It was really hard to stay positive.

We put up many, many flyers and with each flyer I put up I said to myself – This will help bring Yuen Yuen home.

Every day like a mantra I said out loud “Yuen Yuen now found, safe and sound”. I would visualize how it felt when I had her safe at home and could hug her and pet her.

I purchased a new collar and tag with her name and our address on it in anticipation of her return. I would handle it and imagine putting it on her.

I went to and called the shelters on a regular basis – every time someone would say “I`m sorry” with that look in their eyes when I told how long she was missing. I would say “I KNOW she is coming back to us”.

The good news is .. after 15 days missing Yuen Yuen was found and returned to us safe and sound! I thank the behavior and strategy I learned from The Secret!
