I have been working in a temporary job that I find very uninspiring and tedious. It is also in a very inconvenient location and takes me ages to get to and from work each day.

After watching “The Secret”, I decided to work out exactly what I wanted in my ideal job. I wrote out a list of requirements, even though I wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to get something that good. I wrote that I wanted a government job in a specific suburb and a whole lot of other requirements. Anyway, nothing much happened for 2 or 3 weeks and I was getting more and more frustrated and depressed. Finally, I just felt so exhausted that I decided to let it go and just try to get into the feeling place of already having the ideal job. I figured that I had nothing to lose and I was tired of constantly calling employment agencies who would promise things, only to be disappointed when they didn’t eventuate. I felt like I had done everything that I possibly could in order to find another job and that it was time for me to let the universe answer.

Anyway, very soon after I decided this I saw an ad online (on an employment agency’s website) about a government job in the exact suburb I wanted. I read all about it and it seemed to fit my description perfectly of the ideal job that I wanted. I applied for the job and received a call from the agency telling me that I was one of 10 people who had been selected out of hundreds of applicants for a group interview. I went along for the interview and was successful, but I still had to go for a second interview. In the second interview, they told me more about the department and the actual job and I was there thinking, “This is exactly what I’ve asked for!!”. Also, I might point out that when I was sitting in the room for my first interview, I saw this little sign in the corner of the room that said, “Abundance is your birthright”. It was like confirmation from the universe that I was supposed to be there!!

I was successful in the second interview and told that afternoon that I would be starting work in just over a week. I am now in my ideal job and very happy. I have the exact sort of conditions I asked for, I am able to go to the gym every morning before work like I wanted, I work with really nice people and I am happy with the pay. Another bonus is that after a 6 month trial period, if I’m happy with the job and they’re happy with me, it will become permanent, which was what I was ultimately hoping for. However I thought it would probably take a lot longer than 6 months!! After years of being in unfulfilling temporary jobs in which I had very little interest, I am so happy to have this job and I wish I had discovered “The Secret” sooner. I am also applying “The Secret” to all areas of my life and I hope to soon have another amazing story to tell!!
