LoveDare, The Secret and My Son
Submitted by: Clint M.
New York, NYI'm a work-at-home, stay-at-home dad working in marketing and loving every moment of fatherhood.
I have always dreamed of being a father, but being a single gay man with a job that requires travel I figured my dream would never be realized. Id heard about The Secret but kept putting off reading it. While traveling for work on day I found a copy of The Secret on an airplane under my seat and I read it before the week was over and I was blown away.
I started feeling and acting like I was a father and asked for signs to let me know I was on the right track. That same week, one day within the span of an hour, I got fired and also received a job offer that would mean no more travel. On my flight home I spoke about The Secret with the guy next to me and I shared my dream about becoming a dad. It turned out that he had adopted a boy whom hed volunteered for as a big-brother. He then handed me a book called LoveDare, written by Claude La Vertu, and offered it to me as a gift because he said he knew I was destined to become a dad I was floored!
I read LoveDare and cried all the way through it. The book is about a man who adopts a dying boy, and the miracles that follow as a result of the law of cause and effect. One night after reading the last chapter in my bed, I fell asleep while repeating I am blessed with my son and my son is blessed with me.
The next morning I was waken by a call from a friend (a nurse) who told me of a young girl whod just given birth to a boy and confided in my friend that she was unable to care for him but didnt want to leave the baby to just anybody. My friend told her she knew of the perfect person for adoption. I didnt hesitate and because it was a private adoption, things happened almost overnight. (The universe loves speed no kidding!).
I now work from home and Im a stay-at-home dad. My sons name is Jesse; to honor his mother Jessica who gifted both Jesse and me with each other. Thank you Jessica for your beautiful gift. Thank you to whoever left The Secret under my seat that day (I left it on a subway for someone else to find and have since bought many copies for friends and family), and thanks to Rhonda Byrne for The Secret, and to Claude La Vertu for LoveDare. You are all amazing!
Clint & Jesse, together in gratitude…
PS: Dont put off reading The Secret; you can get it almost anywhere including online. LoveDare is only available at claudelavertu.com a beautiful and inspiring read!
