Last week was O-week at university – the week before classes start, where people come to party, make new friends and learn their way around the campus.
At the end of a long day, I was sitting in the uni-bar and watching all these people having a fabulous time and I began to feel really lonely and left out. Suddenly I realised what I putting out to the universe – negative genie requests. I was telling the universe to give me loneliness and and be ignored by everyone.
As soon as I caught myself doing this, I shifted my focus to what I wanted. I acted as if I was already happy and having a good time because I realised no one wants to be around someone who’s miserable. Literally within five seconds of focusing on what I wanted, four people came over, introduced themselves to me and joined my table. When they left, another couple of guys began talking to me.
I was astonished at how quickly the universe responded to positive request. Even more amazing was how the positive when it came completely obliterated all the negatives that had gone before it.
