My Secret Experience
In 2011 just after a party for my daughters 10th birthday my husband and I suddenly parted, he left us and moved in with someone else.
Following this I discovered he had left due to mounting debts. Unbeknownst to me, he had used all our savings and my inheritance from our joint account. Matters worsened as I had taken out loans in my name to assist his failing business, he left me with those debts also. With my single working wage and the mounting debts I was struggling with, my daughter and I lost our beautiful home. We moved from a 3 bedroom house into one room at my brother’s home. I was grateful for the help and the roof.
I started to rebuild my life and my credit rating. My next plan was to get back on the property ladder and to once again own my own home, but how? The housing market was fiercely competitive and there were several buyers looking at one property. It all seemed so impossible.
Then I saw it! A 2 bed compact house just right for the two of us! As soon as I viewed it I knew it was ours, I hadn’t even had my mortgage application approved. I started telling myself this house was already ours. I visualized an ocean and the parting of waters leaving a dry path just like in the film Moses, and on that path stood my house, unnoticed and waiting for me and my daughter to move in. The ocean waves on either side represented the competitive housing market, but not a drop of water entered the path which to me, meant nobody would walk this path and compete for my new home.
I did not check the internet to see if the house was still showing for sale and I put an offer in and it was accepted! Even without a mortgage offer and my past credit history not so good, with utter faith I put four hundred pounds forward to start proceedings.
My mortgage application had a few teething problems but I truly believed I owned this house. Then, one sunny afternoon the phone call came, my mortgage application had been approved!
I am now the proud home owner I used to be and my daughter and I are so happy!
I asked the universe, I believed, and the universe responded to me.
