In early 2007, a friend sent me  The Secret movie. This person rarely ever forwards anything, so I knew what he had to send must be important. I watched it right then and there and it resonated deeply.

I had been thinking about going to Thailand ever since the previous summer when I picked up a Thai spirit house at a yard sale being held by a teacher who was retiring over there. So after the movie, I solidified my intention.

A couple days later I got an email from a fellow jazz singer who was there singing in a five-star hotel for a three-month stint. She told me they hadn’t yet found their next singer and was I interested? Heck yeah! So I shipped my CDs to her for forwarding to the hiring person.

To cut to the chase, I was offered the summer slot and six weeks later I was living in Thailand singing my heart out for enough money that I could take a few months off to spend time with family and friends upon my return to the states!

And what was really crazy is that the place she was singing, Sirocco at Lebua Hotel in Bangkok, was mentioned to me two years earlier by a friend who went there and said he envisioned me singing on that stage. I have many other stories of small triumphs using The Secret principles, but now I’m going to focus on much bigger dreams and continue to express gratitude for living a blessed life. This morning, I expressed gratitude for the small cotton bath mat that cushions and dries my feet, for the water that comes out of my shower head, for the organic veggies that I juiced and for the vibrant health they provide me. The point being: no thing is too small to express gratitude for and even the apparently negative things can be seen as blessings, for they contain within them lessons and information for personal growth. My wish is for everyone who reads this to experience the magic of gratitude and all the abundance that follows!
