To Be, Act As If!

Living the LOA one magical day at a time.
I’ve posted a few stories but this realization came to me from how my behavior and thinking has changed so much from last year, thanks to Rhonda and a few other LOA inspired book.
Some of the teachings that resonated with me were ‘To have or be whatever you want, just act as if you already have it or are it. So, “to be wealthy” act as if you’re wealthy, “to be happy” just be happy.
I remember last year my thoughts and feelings of lack finally caught up with me and I was having financial problems. I would go for days without eating and would shop in the cheap or reduced goods aisle of the supermarkets. I started buying 2nd hand clothes, overeating vegetables and fruits at friends houses because they were too expensive to buy and I didn’t want my nutrition to suffer and though I am embarrassed to admit this, stealing rolls of toilet paper from my work place to cut costs.
During this time it suddenly dawned on me that even though I was doing the practices and imagining having financial abundance, my actions were screaming “lack” to the Universe instead of abundance.
So I started to let go little by little. I stopped taking toilet paper from work, I still overate on veggies and fruits at my friends houses but then I started giving money to people on the street or each time I was paid I would leave small amounts of money in the supermarket. I made small steps each payday till eventually on impulse I treated a friend who had fallen on hard times to dinner and didn’t feel the usual stress of spending money. I realized that I had everything I needed, enough money to cover my rent, bills, transport costs, food, family, a loving boyfriend and supportive friends.
Money stopped being my main focus and then lo and behold 3 months later I hit the mother load!
I got a bonus at work, a pay raise and 2 tax rebates from the tax man! This was all within the same month!
I paid off a good chunk of my credit card debt, gave some to charity and was able to put down a deposit on a new place I was moving to.
I am more mindful on my feelings in regards to abundance and even now I was put to the test when my credit card company recently said because I had missed a few payments (all from last year) they had to increase my rate. So either I pay everything off in full or cancel the card and stay at the current rate and continue paying each month till the balance was cleared. I panicked for a second but then thought to myself that I don’t need to go further into debt because I already receive more than enough money to meet the minimum payments on my card and take care of all my needs and desires. Then I just cancelled my credit card and I haven’t looked back since.
To be, just act as if! This has been my new motto and it can work with anything. To be healthy, just act healthy. To be confident, just act confident!
I hope my story has inspired someone as much as some of the stories on here have inspired me.
Remember people: To be, just act as if!
