I had wanted to purchase The Secret DVD desperately, when I first saw it about 6 months ago, but simply did not have the extra $39.95. I decided it would be a Christmas gift in 2006 to myself, so I started saving my pennies to purchase it. I told no one in my family, since it had been my experience that more than once they did not understand my need to find “something” outside of myself, and I simply did not want to have to explain why I felt this need to get this DVD. It arrived 2 days before Christmas. I watched and cried through the whole thing. This is what I had been waiting for. I had a calmness that came over me for the first time in months, because I now KNEW that I could have absolutely everything I ever dreamed of. I HAD the power. My daughter and her husband had been having some difficult times that were really getting them down. I decided on Christmas Eve that I was going to suggest she watch the DVD with me. When I mentioned it to her, she said “sure Mom, we can watch it later”. Her expression on her face and lack of enthusiasm was clearly what I had wanted to avoid in the first place, so basically felt the conversation had ended there. She had a rather odd look about her, so I was not really sure what she was thinking. Later that night, we have a tradition that we each open one gift from each other. There are only the 4 of us, so my daughter said, “Mom, I would like for you to start first with this gift from James and I. She went on to say “I think you will be surprised, I know I was”. I did not understand her comment until I tore off the paper and found I was holding the most beautifully bound little book, called… YES.. The Secret! I was in shock. When I asked why, they picked that book for me, she said she had no idea. They were in a very well known book store (that has literally thousands of books!) and she spotted this one. She told her husband, I need to get this for MOM. Needless to say, I decided then, that “The Secret” works. There is no earthly reason why they would have picked THAT book to buy for me, but they did. I will end by saying that my daughter and her husband (as well as mine) have all watched the DVD, and we are all living more enriched lives daily. I know 2007 will be the BEST years of our lives.
