I had been in a mentally abusive marriage for years. I hated it, I felt trapped, depressed, angry, and very unhappy. I was too scared to leave. I knew my husband would try and destroy me and I was right! I just did not have the courage or strength.

I remember praying at night, “Please just let me be happy, I just want to be with someone who loves me, is kind to me, who I am physically attracted to, that I want for my soulmate.” This went on night after night, I could almost picture the man I wanted.

Then suddenly he was there! I’d know him for 3 years but I didn’t see him in that light at first. As I got to know him I felt this kindness. One day out of the blue, I knew that I had feelings for him. We both fell head over heels in love, and 5 years later we still are.

I divorced my abusive ex right away and I never looked back. I won’t say it was plain sailing as it was the opposite and he’s tried everything to destroy me. One thing he can’t change is the happiness and love I feel with my soulmate.
